Out now: fearless in my forties in Synkroniciti's Audacity issue

Every December - once the presents have been opened, the light on the tree starts to dim and the joy slowly transforming into a hopeful yet cautious look into the next year, I think about what word could and should I center myself on for the coming year.
I don't think I ever truly picked a word/theme this year, but somewhere in that boxing up of Christmas magic and before I truly lost any hope that this year would be better than last years, I decided to write and send a few pieces out to the world. I haven't submitted anything to anyone since 2022. My first piece "-fearless in my forties," found a home in an online journal and was published on March 15th. 
My poem opens this Audacity issue. And I can't wait to dig into the rest of my fellow poets and read their words. With everything that is going on, may we all have the audacity to do something... instead of sitting, waiting on magic to save us or give us false hope.
